How Many Bowel Movements Should You Have a Day?
If you ask the average person how many bowel movements they have on a regular basis, you might get a slap in the face or a look of disgust, but it’s a vital question to check and regulate the health of your colon and digestive tract. It’s important to recognize that not everyone should have the same number of bowel movements. For one person’s body, a daily visit to the bathrooom would be fine, and for someone else, the normality would be every other day for a seat on the commode.
But if you are having a bowel movement just once a week or even less frequently than you probably have a problem with the health of your colon, and a colon cleanse would be a great idea. It also depends on how much you eat and how often you eat. It can take anywhere from 24- 72 hours for your meal to be digested and leave your body. If it is in there any longer than that then you have rotting decaying waste sitting in your body and it can be anything but good.
So it’s ok if you don’t have a bowel movement every single day. You know your body and how frequent they should be. Even if that guy on TV says you should be going every day, that may not be so. Everything that goes in must come out or it can result in disease or sickness at the least. Normally you will experience some stomach cramps and other pains if your bowel movements are too infrequent.
I recently met someone who said they only pooped once a week and sometimes once every 2 weeks. This is definitely not good. But the amazing part is that she said that once she started working out after joining a local YMCA she started having much more frequent bowel movements. This is why exercise can not only be agreat way to lose weight but a great way to keep your colon clean. The more you get that blood flowing the better off you will be.
