Make Your Own Homemade Colon Cleanse Drink

Some of the best colon cleanses you can do at home involve drinking something rather than eating something.  The reason is that the liquid works a lot faster and can get into those nooks and crannys of your colon that need to be flushed out.  (yes, kind of like draino).  So here are a few homemade colon cleanse drinks you can try making yourself to help purge your body of all those harmful toxins that have built up over the years.

One method is to try drinking REAL lemon juice with cayenne pepper in it.  I am not talking about lemonade here.  Buy real lemons from the produce section of the grocery store and squeeze them into a juice.  If you want to add a sweetener try adding some maple syrup.  The cayenne pepper has a bitter taste, but just a table spoon for every half gallon should be fine.  It will help to make the lemon juice work faster in your diet.  And this is a diet after all.  You will not want to eat any other foods during this process.  This will allow the lemon juice to do all the work and in a few days you will start noticing a real difference, a clean feeling if you will.

There are many teas you can try drinking as well that promise to cleanse the colon.  These teas include selena tea, green tea, and one I have seen recently called Smooth Move.  Sometimes teas can cause restriction in the colon, causing cramping and you don’t want that, so be ginger with the tea.

Some other drinks you can try to cleanse your GI system and colon are apple cider vinegar.  It’s not pleasant but very effective if you can swallow it.  I usually will water it down a little so it’s not so horrid.

Also, try taking a few teaspoons of salt in your water and mix it up.  You might want to be near a bathroom for this one, as it can really get your bowel movements going.  Even any other kind of vinegar mixed in your water will have a similar effect, but not as much as good ole sea salt water.

If you have a juicer, here is a great homemade colon cleanse drink:

Take an 1 apple,  1 carrot, 1 raw potato , and some tomato juice and blend them all together in the juicer.  Drink this every morning or night and you will be amazed at how well it cleanses your digestive system.

If you want to boost your colon cleanse to the next level you can take a look at some supplements that are FDA approved as well.

  1. I just got a new juicer and I love the new drinks I am making. The only problem is the juice is warm and if I let it coool in the fridge it all seperates. Any tips on how to get cold juice? Thanks for the great tips buy the way!

  2. Kara says:

What i do is refrigerate the things i am going to juice. so if i am doing a carrot apple spinach drink i just keep it in the fridge until i am ready to juice and it keeps my juice cold!
